The first event in Australia dedicated to raising awareness and funds to make psychedelic therapy a legal treatment is taking place on Friday 8th of April.
There has been a resurgence in research into psychedelic science in recent years with the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Science leading the way. To support their efforts to progress to phase 3 clinical trials for MDMA-assisted psychotherapy, MAPS are encouraging people to host a “Psychedelic Dinner” to raise awareness, support and funds for research. Here in Australia, progress has been slow with Psychedelic Research In Science and Medicine (PRISM) being unable to gain all the necessary support for an Australian trial.
SSDP Australia will be helping present a “Psychedelic Dinner” at the Melbourne Brain Center this Friday to support MAPS and PRISM. The night will consist of a short seminar including talks by Australian experts in the field of psychedelic research and the founders of PRISM. Following talks, guests will have the opportunity to dine and chat with speakers, researchers, clinicians, and other guests interested in psychedelic science. An opportunity to gather the community, share stories and learn about this burgeoning field.
